In SWAG we have joined the race for sustainable development, taking responsibility in matters of social action in preservation and environmental improvement, in promoting ethical values and equal opportunities for individuals and groups. In short, we are aware of our impact on society and have developed a sensitivity to the problems of our environment.

Our commitment is based on several projects and initiatives:

Cooperation with developing areas

 In this year 2009, we have allocated resources in cooperative projects with ONG in Asia. The most relevant of these is the "Multilingual Dictionary Chemical Project" in which chemical engineers in development areas were involved in the translation of a multilingual dictionary to be integrated in a policy document generation. Instead of hiring specialized translators, we have chosen to create a community of people in developing areas related to the project to benefit in the first instance of remuneration for their work and then free use and exploitation of the application that have collaborated . The same budget that we spend to hire professional translation services, we invest in social development.

Environmental Prevention

SWAG participates through ALQUIMIA in the european regulation on the safety of products and chemicals called REACH. We are consultants and representatives of several companies which help in adjusting to this new european regulation. We are an organization recognized by the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) and in addition to providing professional services in this area, we actively participate in discussion forums on improving the environment from the hazards of chemicals.

We promote equal opportunities

We strive to be the leaders of equal opportunities for the small and
medium sized companies in the European chemical sector, facing the interest
of giant multinationals. The regulation process as mentioned before, REACH,
is costly and complex, as a major part of the European chemical textile
industry is in danger of disappearing due to having insufficient resources
to adapt to the new legislation. In SWAG we believe that in protecting the
interests of the small and medium sized European companies is vital to
equilibrate the system. To achieve this, we continuously execute
communication actions for the companies affected as well as for distinctive
public administration companies in order to create awareness of the issue,
and to be able to accomplish future managers more adequate for all.
